Privacy Notice

This is what Bude Tandoori does with the details you give us when you ring or email to order or book. It is short because the list is short.

The short version

This website sends us no personal information and keeps none on our side. The dishes you pick stay in your own browser. If you type your details on the order page, your browser keeps them until you close the tab. None of it is sent to us. If you email us an order or a booking, it goes from your own email app.

When you ring or email to order or book, we have your name, your number or email address, what you ordered and any allergy you tell us about. We use them to cook your food, to hold your table and to reach you about it. Nobody buys them, nobody rents them, and no advertising company sees them.

This website never takes a card payment, so there is no card number, no security code and no bank detail of yours anywhere in it. Cash only: you pay at the counter when you collect, or at the table.

Want it gone? Email budetandoori09@gmail.com or ring 01288 359994 and ask. We will delete it.

Who is responsible for your information

Bude Tandoori is a trading name of BUDE TANDOORI LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 12012178. The company is the data controller for everything you give us by phone or by email, and for everything else described on this page.

The restaurant
12 Burn View, Bude, Cornwall EX23 8BZ
Registered office
25 Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2LS
Telephone
01288 359994, or the second line, 01288 352504, from 17:00 on any evening we’re open

The registered office in Truro is our accountant’s address. It is on this page because the Companies Act requires it. It is not where the restaurant is and it is not where post about your order should go.

What we hold, why we hold it, and for how long

The website sends us none of this. You give it to us yourself, on the phone or in an email. The only thing recorded as you use the website is the ordinary server log kept by our host, in the last row.

We do not build a profile of you, we do not score you, and nothing on this site makes an automated decision that has an effect on you. There is no customer account and there is no password, so there is nothing of yours for anyone to break into.

How long we keep it

We delete order and booking emails after 12 months. That includes any allergy you wrote in them. Anything written down from a phone call, allergies included, is kept no longer than that.

If these periods change, this page changes with them.

We never take a card payment on this website

There is no card form on this site, no payment step, and no payment company behind it. We do not ask for a card number, a security code, an expiry date, a billing address or a bank detail, so we cannot store one, lose one or have one stolen from us. Cash only: you pay at the counter when you collect, or at the table.

If a page ever asks you for card details in the name of Bude Tandoori, it is not us. Ring the restaurant on 01288 359994 and tell us.

Who else sees your information

Two companies see personal information, and each one only because the website or our inbox cannot work without it. A third holds the menu and sees none. None of them may use your details for anything of their own.

Beyond those: nobody. Bude Tandoori is not on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats, so no ordering platform sees your details. There is no advertising network on this site, no social media tracker, no tag manager and no data broker. We would share your information with the police, a court or a regulator if the law required it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden to.

The map on our pages is a picture kept on our own website, made from OpenStreetMap data. Nothing is sent to Google or anyone else when it shows. If you tap it, or tap Directions, Google Maps opens in a new tab or in your maps app. From then on you are using Google’s own service, under Google’s own terms.

Information leaving the UK

We hold no order database. Netlify and Google are United States companies, so some of their support and engineering work reaches your information from outside the UK.

Where that happens, the transfer relies on the safeguards each company publishes: the UK Addendum to the European Commission standard contractual clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified under it.

What you can ask us to do

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for a while, while something is being sorted out;
  • hand it over in a form you can take somewhere else, where we hold it because of a contract or because you consented;
  • stop relying on our legitimate interests, if your situation means we should not;
  • withdraw your consent to us holding allergy details you gave us, at any point, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

Ask by email or by telephone. There is no form to fill in and it costs nothing. We will answer within one month, and we will say so if a request is complicated enough that the law lets us take longer. We will only ask you to prove who you are if we genuinely cannot tell, and then only as much as it takes.

Second line: 01288 352504. Email: budetandoori09@gmail.com

If you are unhappy with how we have handled it

Tell us first. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 gives you the right to complain to us directly about how we have used your information, and it obliges us to acknowledge your complaint within thirty days and to look into it properly. Email budetandoori09@gmail.com or ring either number and say it is a data protection complaint.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which regulates data protection in the UK. You do not have to come to us first, although it is usually settled sooner if you do.

Cookies and what is stored on your own device

Your dish list is kept on your own phone or computer and is never sent to us. If you type your details on the order page, your browser keeps them for that tab only: your name, phone number, collection day and time, any allergy and any note. They reach us only if you send the email yourself, from your own email app. This site sets no cookies at all, and stores nothing that needs your permission, so there is no cookie choice to make. The full list, with every name, what it is for and how long it lasts, is on the cookie page.

Children

This site is built for people ordering food, and it is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly hold information about a child who has ordered on their own account. If you think we hold something about your child that we should not, ring the restaurant and we will take it off.

Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change means we are doing something materially different with your information, we will say so on the page rather than expect you to spot it.
