Take the one-way system around Bude turning past the Golf Club and along Burn View. You'll find us about 150yds on the right.

Do you deliver?

No. Collection from Burn View only, or eat in.

Can I order online?

No. The website doesn't take orders or payment. You can pick your dishes on it and it adds up the total. Then ring us, or it writes the email for you to send.

An emailed order is an order once we reply. For tonight, ringing 01288 359994 is quickest. You pay cash when you collect.

Are you on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats?

No. We are not on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats. You order from us by phone or by email, and collect from Burn View.

Tap dishes on the menu to build a list with the total, then read it out when you ring, or send it in your email, so nothing gets missed.

Do you take cards?

No. We are cash only, whether you eat in or take away. No cards, no cheques, no phone payments. Bring cash to the table, or to the counter when you collect.

One thing worth knowing: the banking hub on Lansdown Road runs Monday to Friday, nine till five, so it is shut every hour we are open and all weekend. Get the cash out beforehand.

How does the 10% off work?

It comes off collection orders over £25.00. There is no code to enter. The running total on the menu shows how close you are, and we take the 10% off when you pay.

Are the prices on this website up to date?

Yes. Every price on this site comes from the kitchen's own list. The old website had a 2019 price list still sitting on it, which is why people were turning up to a different number at the counter. That file is gone. If you ever find a price here that is wrong, tell us on 01288 359994 and we will fix it that night.

Can I order something that isn't on the menu?

Any dish not on the menu can be made up on request. Ring us on 01288 359994 and ask, or put it in your email and we will ring you if there is a question about it.

How long will my food take?

We give you a time when you ring, or when we reply to your email. We cook to order, so at busy times it can run over. Times given are always an estimation.

If you need it for a set time, say so when you ring or in your email, and we will work to it.

What kind of food do you cook?

We cook Bangladeshi and Indian food, in that order, and we have done from this address since 2009. The dining room is fully licensed. The kitchen runs a tandoor, and everything is cooked to order rather than held.

Some of what we cook is Bangladeshi rather than Indian. Shatkora goes into the chicken and the lamb, and our menu calls it a vegetable used only in Bangladeshi cooking. The naga chilli behind the Bengal Naga section comes from the Sylhet district of Bangladesh, and you choose your own strength when you order it.

How big is the menu?

The menu runs to 13 sections, and every dish in every one of them is on this website with its price beside it. Nothing is hidden behind a PDF and nothing costs more at the counter than it says here.

The sections cover condiments, starters, the chef's specialities, Bengal Naga, the traditional dishes, tandoori, balti, biryani, vegetarian sides, rice, breads, English dishes and the pre-order specials.

What is shatkora?

Shatkora is, in our own menu's words, a vegetable used only in Bangladeshi cooking.

It goes into two dishes on our Chef's Speciality section: Chicken Shatkora and Lamb Shatkora, both cooked with onions, garlic, ginger, Sylheti spices and shatkora. It is one of the things that makes this a Bangladeshi kitchen and not only an Indian one.

How hot is the Bengal Naga?

As hot as you ask for, and you have to ask — the strength is a choice you make when you order, not a fixed setting.

Our menu describes the section like this: cooked with the world's hottest chili (originates from the Sylhet district of Bangladesh), fresh coriander, mixed Indian spices and fresh tomatoes. It can be cooked from medium to extremely hot.

Please choose your choice of strength when ordering. Tell us how hot you want it when you ring, or put it in your email.

What is Kursi Lamb, and how do I order it?

Kursi Lamb needs 24 hours' notice, so it is the one dish on the menu you cannot have tonight.

Our menu describes it like this: this dish will serve up to 4 people. A famous Bangladeshi dish consisting of a whole leg of lamb marinated in a blend of fragrant Grameen spices, oven roasted and presented with rice, naan and salad.

It is £135.00. Order it at least a day ahead, by phone or by email, and tell us the day and the time you want it.

What is there for vegetarians and vegans?

Plenty for vegetarians. There is a full Vegetarian Side Dishes section, vegetable versions of the traditional dishes, Balti and biryani, paneer through the tandoori section, and you can filter the whole menu to vegetarian dishes only.

Vegan is harder to answer honestly: our pilau rice is cooked in vegetable ghee and our paratha is fried in it.

If you are ordering for a vegetarian, please say so when you ring, or in your email. It matters and we would rather hear it twice.

Do you serve halal food?

We are not going to answer that for the restaurant.

A customer has said so in a review. The restaurant itself has never said it, and we will not print a claim they have not made. If it matters to you, ring 01288 359994 and ask.

Can you do a dish gluten free, dairy free or nut free?

We will not tell you a dish is free of anything. One kitchen, shared pans, shared oil, shared surfaces. We can tell you what goes into a dish and we can leave things out where the recipe allows it, but we cannot promise a dish has never met a nut.

We prepare food in a kitchen that handles nuts, milk, gluten and shellfish.

I have a food allergy. What should I do?

Tell us about any allergy when you ring, or write it in your email. On the phone we will read it back to you before we take the order.

If it is serious, please ring 01288 359994 rather than only emailing. We prepare food in a kitchen that handles nuts, milk, gluten and shellfish, so we will not tell you a dish is free of anything. Full detail on the allergens page.

Do you do a children's menu?

What we can tell you today is the restaurant's own published line: any dish not on the menu can be made up on request. There are highchairs in the dining room if you need one.

Ring 01288 359994 and ask.

Do you have a dessert menu?

There is no dessert section on the menu.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Fully licensed. Bar on site — beer, wine and spirits.

Drinks are served in the dining room.

What drinks do you have?

There is a bar on site with beer, wine and spirits, but the list has never been published.

Can I bring my own wine?

The restaurant is fully licensed and there is a bar on site, so there is something to drink either way.

For a particular evening, ring 01288 359994 and ask.

Do I need to book a table?

Ring us or email us to book. For tonight, ringing 01288 359994 is quickest.

Can I book a table online or by email?

Not online. You can book by phone or by email. Email budetandoori09@gmail.com with the night, the time and how many of you. The booking page on this website writes the email for you. Your table is booked once we reply.

For tonight, please ring 01288 359994.

Can I book a table for 12 people?

Please ring 01288 359994 for a party that size, so we can tell you what we can do on the night you want. You can email as well, with the night, the time and how many of you.

How many people does the dining room seat?

We haven't counted for the website yet. For a big group, ring 01288 359994.

There are highchairs if you need one.

Is there step-free access?

Ring 01288 359994 before you come and the restaurant will tell you exactly what you are arriving at.

How long has Bude Tandoori been in Bude?

Since 2009. Bude Tandoori has been serving Bude from Burn View for that long.

The limited company behind it, BUDE TANDOORI LIMITED, was incorporated on 22 May 2019 — so the restaurant is older than the company, and the two dates mean different things.

What is your phone number?

Our main number is 01288 359994. If it is busy, the second line is 01288 352504. Both are answered from 17:00.

On the phone we can take your order for collection, book a table, talk through an allergy, or tell you what's on tonight.

Can I email you?

Yes, budetandoori09@gmail.com. You can email us an order or a booking. It's an order, or a booking, once we reply. For tonight, ringing is quickest.

Is Bude Tandoori a limited company?

Yes. Bude Tandoori is a trading name of BUDE TANDOORI LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 12012178.
