Cookie Policy
Everything this website stores on your phone or computer, by name, with what it is for and how long it lasts. It is a short list, and we have not padded it out.

The short version
This website sets no cookies at all, ours or anyone else’s. So there is nothing to agree to, and no cookie choice to make. There is no visit counter, no tag manager, no social media button and no tracking pixel on any page. Nobody is watching what you look at.
What is stored is your dish list, kept on your own device. It is never sent to us. If you type your details on the order page, they are kept for that tab only: your name, phone number, collection day and time, any allergy and any note. That way a trip to your phone app does not lose them. They reach us only if you send the email yourself.
The map is a picture kept on our own website. Showing it sends nothing to Google or anyone else, and it sets no cookie.
Why we don’t ask you about cookies
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations split what a website may put on your device into two.
Strictly necessary
Storage without which a thing you asked for cannot happen. Your dish list is the plain example: you tapped “add”, so the site has to remember what you added. Regulation 6(4) says we may keep that without asking. Asking would be theatre: if you said no, the dish list could not work. We keep this as small as it can be.
Everything else
Counting visits, measuring which parts of a site people use, remembering you across other websites, advertising. None of it is needed for you to read a menu or build your list, so none of it may be set until you have said yes.
This site has nothing in the second group. It counts nothing and measures nothing, and the map is our own picture, so there is no question to ask you.
Cookies this site sets
None. No page on this site sets a cookie, and no page loads anything from another company that could set one.
What is kept on your own device, and never sent to us
These are not cookies. They live in your browser’s own storage (local storage, and for one of them session storage), which means they stay on the device and are never attached to a request to our server. The rules are the same either way, so they are listed here.
| Name | What it does | Category | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
bt_basket_v2 | Your dish list: the dishes you added, the extras you chose and the quantities, in local storage. It is what keeps the list through a refresh, a dropped signal or a walk out of range. It holds no name and no phone number, and it never leaves your device unless you choose to email your order to us. | Strictly necessary | Until you empty the list, or clear your browser’s site data |
bt_order_details_v2 | What you type on the order page, in session storage: your name, phone number, collection day and time, any allergy and any note. They are still there if you pop out to your phone app and come back. They are never sent to us by the website, and reach us only if you send the email yourself | Strictly necessary | Until you close that tab |
An older version of the list, bt_basket_v1, is read once and then deleted the next time you visit, keeping the dishes on it.
If you visited before 29 September 2026, your browser may still hold bt_consent_v1, your old answer about the Google map. The site no longer reads it. Clearing this site’s data removes it.
What this site does not set
Written out, because a list of absences is more useful here than a list of categories:
- no analytics or audience measurement of any kind;
- no advertising or retargeting pixel;
- no Facebook, Instagram, X or TikTok tracker, and no social sharing widget;
- no tag manager;
- no A/B testing or personalisation tool;
- no session recorder, heatmap or scroll tracker;
- no chat widget;
- no map from Google or anyone else: the map is a picture on our own website;
- no third-party font loaded from someone else’s server: the three typefaces are served from this site;
- no ordering platform, so no Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats cookie.
If we ever add anything that needs your permission, it will be listed here before it is switched on, and it will not run until you have said yes.
The map
The map on the home page and the find-us page is a picture, kept on this website like our photos. It was made from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors). Showing it sends nothing to Google, to OpenStreetMap or to anyone else, and it sets no cookie. That is why it shows straight away.
If you tap the map, or the Directions or Open in Google Maps buttons, Google Maps opens in a new tab or in your maps app. From then on you are on Google’s own site or app, under Google’s own terms and cookie rules.
How to clear what is stored
There is no cookie choice to change, because there are no cookies. You can clear what this site keeps in your browser at any time, and it takes effect at once:
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Delete browsing data, or the site settings for this site.
- Safari: Settings, then Safari, then Advanced, then Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Clearing site data empties your dish list as well, because that is where the list lives.
Ask us about any of it
If something on this page does not match what you are seeing in your own browser, we want to know. That would be a bug, and a serious one. Email or ring the restaurant.
Second line: 01288 352504. Email: budetandoori09@
What we do with what you tell us when you ring or email (your name, your phone number, your order) is set out in the Privacy Notice. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office about anything on this page as well, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
